Today was another great day with Samuel. Last night he did not sleep very well, but he took a nap today so that was good. We took him to the park and he was scared of the iguanas (there are a lot here and they are very big). Our translator took us to the mall to show us around and so we could get Samuel some swim trunks and a bucket for doing laundry. That's right I'll be doing our laundry by hand, and I'm not sure how this will work considering we have no dryer either. It should be interesting!
Samuel is such a happy boy, he is always smiling and laughing. I can't get over how happy he is!
Samuel had an amazing foster family, I did not meet them but his foster mom kept a detailed journal and added some pictures of him. I am so grateful she took the time to do this. His social worker also said he was very close with his foster dad and liked to go to the farm with him, this may explain how he immediately bonded with Jeff. He has bonded with me too, but he prefers Jeff to carry him (which is fine with me because he is a big boy:) His foster mom said she is hoping we can have his eye operated on and we are hoping so too. We are anxious to meet with his ophthalmologist the beginning of January to see what they can do for him (he has a congenital cataract in his right eye, which means he was born with it and he has cloudiness in the eye). It doesn't seem to affect him much, but I'm sure the doctors can make it better for him.
We are pretty tired tonight, so we will post pictures tomorrow. It's almost 10pm and he is still awake! He went to bed at 8pm last night, but he did not nap and woke up from 11pm-2am, so you can see why we are tired. Praying for a good nights sleep tonight!
Samuel is so cute! We are praying for you all. It sounds like everything is going great.

Thank you, he is precious! We are anxious to bring him home. He is an active little boy, so we are praying for the plane ride to Bogota and home to go smoothly.
